3-10 Installing the DIGITAL VNswitch 900FX

Task 3: Verify Initial LED Operation

To verify initial LED operation, check the following stages:

If... Then...

This is a new installation Turn on the power to the DIGITAL

MultiSwitch 900.

The module was installed while the

DIGITAL MultiSwitch 900 was

powered up

Seating the module initiates the module’s

power-up sequence.

If the LEDs do not operate as described,

refer to Appendix A, Problem Solving.

For locations of the module’s LEDs, refer

to Figure 3-1.

Stage Description

1 When the module receives power, the Power LED lights and remains

lit.

2 The module runs a self-test.

NOTE: The self-test takes approximately 3 minutes to complete.

3 After the module completes self-test, the Module OK LED lights.

4 The Chassis Manager status display identifies the module as the

VNswitch 900FX.
